The only choices you have are in Mouse Properties, Change How the Pointers Look. They are all standard windows pointers. I miss the win 7 pointers too. While this is true, and that they are NOT prepackaged with 8 or 8.1, you CAN find them on DeviantArt.com. There have been people who have extracted them and posted them on there. Also, the file format for Windows cursors have NOT changed, and if you have access to a Win 7 computer or a Win Vista comupter, you can also copy and paste the OFFICIAL cursors from those machines onto a flash drive, and then add them to your Win 8 machine if you do not want to get on DA.com.
I currently have them on my Toshiba Satellite laptop, and am using right now a tailless version of the 7 cursors. Again, you CAN, but they are NOT provided by Microsoft OR the Windows Team anymore.
